Winner of Young Researcher Contest

Thanks to the generous support of the Stichting 3E grant, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the JiCable conference 23 held in Lyon, France. This esteemed conference, which takes place once every four years, serves as a hub for all things related to cables. It brought together industry experts, academics, and aspiring students like myself to explore the latest innovations in the field.

Participating in such a large-scale conference was a truly unique experience. This year, nearly 900 individuals took part, creating an environment buzzing with knowledge exchange and networking. As a master’s student just a few weeks from graduation, attending this conference provided me with invaluable clarity on my future path within the cable industry.

One of the highlights of the conference was the opportunity to present my paper as an oral presentation. As a student, it was an honor to be able to share my research findings alongside seasoned researchers. To my surprise, I was selected as the recipient of the best paper award in the Young Researcher contest for researchers and students under 35. This conference gave me an opportunity to represent Delft University of Technology and the Netherlands. The assistance not only helped me attend the JiCable conference but also opened doors to new opportunities and cemented my passion for the cable industry.
